AL-Ettifaq Club establishment story
|
The Ettifaq Club was started by three young men from from Dammam City when they
agreed on the establishment of three football teams in 1944, these teams are:
-
AL-Ta’aone team headed by Abdullah Hussein.
-
AL-Sha’ab team headed by Fares al-Hamid.
-
AL-Shabab team headed by Ali Saleh Al-Ghamdi.
Following the establishment of these three football teams, Dammam football fans began to admire and encourage the teams. With this increasing level of
support the heads of these teams decided to integrate themselves into a single
team, and Fares Al-Hamed suggested they name the new team ‘Al-Ettifaq’. They all
agreed on this name and chose white and green to be the team colors, this was
later changed to red and green. Thus, the team was founded in 1944, and very
quickly started to achieve victory after victory. With this excellent beginning
their popularity increased so fast that they became the football ambassador of
the region, and its representative in champions’ platforms. The team became the
strongest and most popular team in the region and football fans became justly
proud of this club, their representative in local and regional tournament.
